Procure Industrial (ABN 25 651 134 146) sources industrial parts and consumables to order. This
policy explains what we collect when you use this website, why we collect it,
and what we do with it. It is written to reflect how this site actually works
rather than as a generic template.
The short version
We collect what we need to source a part and get back to you: who you are,
how to reach you, where it is going, and what you are trying to fix. We do not
sell your information, and we do not take payment on this website.
What we collect, and when
When you send a quote request
From the quote list you give us your name, company name, email address,
phone number, a delivery address, any site access notes, and any comments you
add. We also record the items you asked us to price.
When you use the “Can’t find it” enquiry form
You give us your name, company name, email address and phone number, and
optionally photographs of a part or machine nameplate, machine make, model and
serial number, a part number, and a description of the job.
Photographs you upload are stored with your enquiry. Please do not upload
images containing information you would not want us to hold — a photo of a
machine nameplate is what we need; a photo of a document is not.
Automatically
Our host records standard server logs, including IP address, browser type and
the pages requested. We store the IP address that submitted a quote request
alongside that request, as a record of where it came from.
Why we collect it
- To source and price what you asked for. Part numbers,
machine details and photographs are how we identify the right item. - To quote freight. Most of the products we supply do not
carry a stored weight, so freight is priced individually. We cannot do that
without a delivery address. - To contact you about your request, including to confirm
price, availability, freight, or a suitable equivalent if the exact item is
unavailable. - To keep a record of what was requested and what was
supplied.
Who else sees it
We share only what is necessary, and only for the purpose above:
- Suppliers and manufacturers, when we need to ask them about
availability or specification. This usually means a part number and a quantity.
We do not pass on your contact details unless a supplier needs to ship directly
to you, and we will tell you if that is the case. - Our website host and email provider, who process data on
our behalf in order to run the site and deliver email. - Freight carriers, where delivery details are needed to
move goods to you.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where it is held
Enquiries and quote requests are stored in this website’s database, and are
also sent to us by email. Some of our service providers may store or process
data outside Australia. By submitting an enquiry you consent to that transfer,
on the basis that it is only for the purposes described here.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and quote requests for as long as we may reasonably need
them — typically to support repeat orders, warranty questions and our own tax
and business records. If you would like your enquiry deleted sooner, contact us
and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and access to enquiry records is restricted to
staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the
security of information transmitted to us over the internet.
Cookies
This site sets cookies that are necessary for it to function — in particular,
remembering the contents of your quote list between pages. Blocking those
cookies will stop the quote list working.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to
delete it. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within a
reasonable period. If we cannot do what you have asked, we will tell you why.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your information, contact us first and we
will try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office
of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
